Where we came from to get here...
Born in Bournemouth and grew up in Christchurch. Food has always been a big part of Sam life. Following in his fathers footstep into the kitchen. Sam started washing up at a local seafood restaurant.
Sam trained at Bournemouth & Poole College and renowned cooking school of the Academy of Culinary Arts. He worked at The Ritz Hotel in London before moving on the Le Gavroche and then The Waterside Inn, Bray. Working for the Roux family.
Sam then spent the past 9 years working on private yachts and private villas all over the world, cooking high profile events and parties.
In June 2017 he started Nothing Pretentious a private event catering company based in The New Forest. His aim is to provide gourmet food using local seasonal products if it's from his food trailer at food markets or a private event.
The style of food varies from each event depending on the customer requests. Sam has a extensive knowledge of different cuisines due to his time traveling abroad.
I have been in the catering industry for the past 16 years working in Michelin Star Restaurants, on Super Yachts and Private Villas in the UK and Europe. I have recently started a Private Catering Company called Nothing Pretentious. We are based in the South of England catering for Weddings and Private Corporate Events.
